  1. Sau Mei is the member representative of the 3 week training. She will be trained at the other units.

  2. Would members please note: We are now recruiting new VCD Production Committee members. Would every unit please delegate at least 2 representatives to join the committee? Due date: 27/7/2011. Contact: Francez, Henry, Lam.

  3. Would members who have joined the table tennis training class please assemble at the clubhouse at 9:30am on 23/7, 6/8, 13/8 (Saturdays) before proceeding to the 12th floor of the Sheung Wan Cultural and Entertainment Centre. Contact for 23/7: Francez, Alan, Rowena.

  4. On 12 November (Saturday) hospitals in Hong Kong will produce a drama about family members of people with mental illness. The drama will be preformed at Kwai Chung Hospital. We now cordially invite a member or a family member to participate in the drama. Rehearsal will be held during normal office hours. In addition, Ba Duan Jin will be demonstrated that day. We now invite two members to participate in this performance. Contact: Francez, Mimi.

  5. An inter-active English class will be held from 13/7/2011-31/8/2011 (every Wednesday) from 4:00-5:00pm. Volunteer teaching assistants include Amanda, Jasmine, Grace and members Gallant, Mimi, Bonnie, Alex Kerr, and Dick. Would members who are interested please register at the reception (Contact: Francez, Mimi, Bonnie). Would various units please reach out to absentee members and inform them of the class. We thank Verita for her volunteer work at the class on 13/7/2011.

  6. The annual Healthy Cooking Competition will start on 7th September and takes place on the following Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The theme this year will be “Healthy Breakfast”. Each team consists of at most 3 persons. We welcome both members and staff to join this competition. There will be plenty of prizes so do not miss this chance. 4 members are invited to be judges of the competition. Please contact Food Service Unit for further details.

  7. Adult first-Aid Certificate Programme
    Date: 20/10/2011-21/11/2011 (Mondays and Thursdays), a total of 10 classes. Time: 6:00-9:00pm. Venue: Phoenix Clubhouse. Number of participants: 20, fee: free of charge. Members are only allowed to take the final examination if they have achieved 80% attendance. If their attendance is below 70%, they will not be regarded as first choice in similar activities in the future. Any member failing to obtain a certificate after examination will receive an Attendance Certificate from the Clubhouse as an encouragement. A member needs to pay $80 for the First-Aid Book and $50 for the certificate fee if examination is passed. Date of examination is to be determined.
